I tend to wander. Certain things grab my attention and I observe them, if only for a little while. I try to capture these moments to figure out what brought me to them in the first place.
This series is an ongoing investigation. Most of my photos focus on small details, everything in the shot is meant to be there and is meant to convey a certain feeling. Although I realize that this is highly subjective.
By photographing landscapes, and I have a somewhat loose interpretation of what constitutes a landscape, I am investigating how much I can leave to chance, while still invoking the feeling that I am looking for .
Food lends itself particularly to color photography, especially since it provides clues as to what tastes are in store. However, as with all my pictures, I shoot first in black & white. When comparing to the color photographs I find that the black and white photographs usually have more impact and are better at telling the story. The color is distracting.
